Our client is looking to expand the team with an Artificial Intelligence Scientist that has experience with SLAM. This opportunity can be fully remote or Hybrid in Porto.

Description

  • Develop and implement computer vision algorithms for SLAM-based underwater applications;
  • Design and implement cutting-edge state estimation and 3D perception algorithms by fusing data from cameras, IMUs, and other sensors;
  • Develop robust calibration systems for sensors, ensuring reliable performance in the underwater environment;
  • Research and experiment with new computer vision and machine learning techniques to improve the accuracy and performance of the SLAM algorithms;
  • Thoroughly analyze the results of experiments and present findings to stakeholders;
  • Work with a cross-functional team in an agile environment;
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in computer vision, SLAM, machine learning, and deep learning.

Profile

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or related fields;
  • 3+ years of experience in developing and implementing visual SLAM algorithms for various applications, such as autonomous vehicles, drones, robotics, and augmented reality;
  • Strong understanding of computer vision and machine learning algorithms, particularly for visual SLAM applications;
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and/or C++;
  • Experience in using computer vision and machine learning frameworks such as OpenCV, TensorFlow, and PyTorch;
  • Experience with sensor fusion algorithms, particularly for navigation and positioning applications;
  • Thoughtful, thorough and conscientious;
  • Critical thinking and ability to show initiative;
  • Open and receptive to new and different ideas
